TRAINING MEMBERSHIP

The CCC has an all-inclusive training membership that includes access to face to face trainings, online classes, webinars, podcasts, book clubs, 6-hour Super Saturdays (virtual and face to face) and reduced pricing on First Aid & CPR.  By joining our training membership, your facility also automatically becomes a partner in our Kids Matter Coalition (KMC).  The KMC works on your behalf to advocate and educate decision makers on solutions to improve the early care and education workforce in Kentucky.  Our membership includes training, advocacy and much more.

BENEFITS

VIRTUAL LEARNING

  • Multiple 1-hour webinars each month. A minimum of 30 hours will be offered from July 1 – June 30.
    • Topics include but not limited to: Trauma Informed Care, Social/Emotional Learning, Literacy, Math, Science, Art, Language Development, Conscious Discipline, Brain Development, Health & Safety, Family Engagement, Developmentally Appropriate Practices, Motivating Staff, Marketing/Social Media and Much More.
    • Orientation I/II will also be offered monthly. 
    • All webinars will be recorded and will be available for staff who can’t attend live. Recorded webinars will require an assessment to be completed.

PODCASTS

  • 1-hour podcast each month (available the last day of each month) – 12 total hours per year
    • Topics include but not limited to: Trauma Informed Care, Social/Emotional Learning, Literacy, Math, Science, Art,  Language Development, Conscious Discipline, Brain Development, Health & Safety, Family Engagement, Developmentally Appropriate Practices, Motivating Staff, Marketing/Social Media and Much More.
    • All podcasts will require an assessment to be completed and can be completed any time.
 
 
PODCASTS WILL BE ADDED EACH MONTH THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. 

FALL/WINTER ARTICLE-BOOK CLUB

  • If you are a reader, this is a great option. In the late summer/fall & winter, we will conduct a month long article/book club where participants will read an article(s)/book chosen by the CCC and meet as a group once a week (online) with a credentialed trainer to discuss the content.  Books/articles will be chosen by the credentialed trainer leading the conversation and will be related to the child care field, personal growth, leadership, etc.  Materials will be announced several weeks in advance to allow time to read articles/books.  Training hours will be based on content but generally are 2-4  hours per selected materials.

BOOKS/ARTICLES 

    • August 1 – August 31A four part article series on Challenging Behaviors.  Articles will be provided at no cost to participants.  
        • Tuesday nights (7:30 PM EST – 8:30 PM EST)
        • 4 Training Hours
    • October 15 – November 12 – Crucial Conversations (2nd edition) by Stephen Covey – Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High. Participants are responsible for book purchase.
        • Thursday nights (7:30 PM EST – 8:30 PM EST)
        • 4 Training Hours
    • Winter Articles/Book –  TBD

 

SUPER SATURDAYS

  • 6-hour Super Saturdays – 24 hours per year
    • Four Super Saturdays will be offered between July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021.
      • A virtual Super Saturday will be offered in September and November
        • Saturday, September 12 – Literacy & Family Engagement 
          • EFFECTIVELY ENGAGING FAMILIES AND SUPPORTING LITERACY IN THE CLASSROOM
          • A RAINBOW OF CHARACTERS: USING CHILDREN’S LITERATURE TO SUPPORT ANTI-BIAS EDUCATION
          • INTEGRATING THE ENVIRONMENT INTO EARLY LITERACY
        • November – TBD
        • Each Super Saturday will consist of 3 two-hour sessions.   
      • *The plan currently is to offer at least an additional 2 face to face Super Saturdays between March 2021 and June 2021. One face to face will be in Lexington and the plan is to offer another in western part of the state.  Face to face Super Saturdays will consist of 3 two-hour sessions.  A variety of topics will be offered at each session and will cover all age groups.

NOVEMBER SUPER SATURDAY TOPICS & TRAINERS WILL BE POSTED BY SEPTEMBER 15, 2020.

ONLINE CLASSES

  • Access to all online classes offered by the CCC. The CCC manages two online platforms.  Members would have access to both sites.  
  • Online courses include but are not limited to:
    • Orientation I/II
    • Brigance for IT & PS,
    • Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma (coming fall 2020)
    • Family Engagement
    • Classes on child care theories
    • And many more topics

All classes are on demand and can be completed at learner’s own pace. 

ALL ONLINE CLASSES WILL BE AVAILABLE JULY 15, 2020.

 

HYBRID/FACE TO FACE CLASSES

  • All classes will be offered virtually July – October except for First Aid/CPR.  This is a hybrid class with content delivered via Zoom and test outs being conducted in person.  
  • Regular Face to Face classes will not begin until at least October. 
  • Hybrid classes provide both an in person option plus a virtual option.   
  • Once Face to Face classes begin, many will be live streamed via Zoom and can be accessed by members throughout the state.
  • For centers with 25+ staff, we will schedule one onsite training throughout the year (at no additional charge) for your staff (2 hours).  Times and dates will vary based on trainer availability.  A variety of topics are available.  
 

REDUCED FA/CPR

  • Members receive access to reduced FA/CPR pricing. Member pricing is $45 per participant (regular price is $75 per participant).
    • The CCC will offer FA/CPR face to face in Central KY & Lincoln Trail at least every other month.
    • NEW!! – We are offering a hybrid FA/CPR class. The first portion of the class is conducted virtually, and the CPR test out is completed face to face (at your facility or determined location).  We can schedule an individual class for just your facility (based on number of participants).  Cost varies for individual/onsite classes based on total number of participants.
